Sports Performance Coach

Responsibilities

Grow a client base beginning with our movement assessment, building relationships with on-site gatekeepers (swing coaches, member service representatives and club professional staff) and demonstrating the value of AMPD and how it can help athletes feel better and play better.

  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive corrective exercise and performance enhancement programs based on clients’ goals and needs.
  • Motivate and inspire clients to get results through goal setting, frequent follow-up, and re-assessments to show progress.
  • Provide hospitality to all clients.
  • Customer Service
  • Respond to member concerns within 5 business hours.
  • Assist with member issues.
  • Ensure the facility is clean, photo-ready and safe.
  • Conduct scheduled facility walkthroughs.
  • Maintain high visibility during peak club hours.
  • Closeout training sessions in the point of sales system at the end of each shift.

Required Qualifications:

  • Enthusiastic, energetic, personable and friendly as well as passionate, intelligent and knowledgeable regarding the fitness industry.
  • Excellent communication, time management, organizational and follow-up skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Approved Personal Training Certification
  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Possess or be willing to learn sales skills.
  • Ability to self-promote and network.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to utilize new techniques and ideas are imperative.
  • Must be available in early mornings and late evenings.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Current CPR/AED certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understand principles of human movement, golf swing biomechanics, corrective exercise techniques and performance enhancement strategies.
  • Degree in field preferred (ex: Exercise Science, Physiology, Kinesiology, Sports Management)
  • 1-3 years of experience as a sport performance coach.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Perform basic physical requirements of this job such as frequent walking around and demonstrating and assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily.

Sports Performance Coach – Intern

What you’ll learn:
Individuals who join our team will gain knowledge and experience working in a highly skilled corrective exercise and sports performance training environment. Each week you will shadow, observe and work your way through our AMPD Online Education Portal. Weekly practicals will take place to put your knewly acquired knowledge to the test. Our coaches and athletes utilize our AMPD performance training system that addresses: ASSESS, MOVE, PERFORM and DYNAMIC ATHELTE. As an intern, you’ll participate in lectures, team discussions, and practicums surrounding our specific strategies we use to amplify movement effiency, optimize performance and speed up recovery. In the end, you will walk away with an in-depth understanding on how to implement the AMPD system post-graduation to help athletes achieve their performance goals in life and sport.

Who We Are Looking For:
Enthusiastic, energetic, and talented individuals who have a passion for upgrading the lives of others. These individuals must be pursuing or possess a Bachelor/Graduate degree in Exercise Science or related field, interested in an industry certification such as NSCA-CSCS, NASM-CES, NASM-PES, TPI, etc., and a strong desire to become a professional in one of the following fields: golf fitness professional and sports performance coach. Eligibility for this internship is dependent on being able to receive academic credit for participation and completion.

Internship Logistics:
If you are selected to participate in the AMPD Performance Internship, you will be responsible for the following

  • Finding, securing, and funding your own housing for the duration of the internship
  • Booking and funding your travel and relocating to the location of your internship prior to the start date
  • Funding all food and transportation costs for the duration of your internship

Academic credit is a requirement, (WHY?) so we recommend that you speak with your academic advisor on this before submitting your application to our internship program.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be receiving college credit through undergraduate, or graduate classes
  • Must be eligible for work in the USA.
  • Must be enrolled in a 4 year or master’s program specializing in sport science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, exercise science, etc
  • Must be able to dedicate 40 hours/week worth of work for 3 consecutive months
  • Must be interested in the field of golf fitness and sports performance

  • Proficient with Anatomy
  • Computer Literate-Word and Excel
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Attention to Detail
  • Proactive and action oriented
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR for the duration of the internship term
