Alejandra birdied the 72nd hole to win the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Woman’s Health Classic by one over Casey Grice. This win makes Alejandra the third Mexican to ever win on the Symetra Tour. Alejandra jumped from 26th on the Volvik Race for the Card money list to 1st with this win.

This win was Alejandra’s first win on the Symetra Tour. “It feels really amazing, I am just really, really excited,” said the overjoyed 26-year-old Llaneza. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. There have been a lot of ups and downs, I am just really excited to have this opportunity today and come out on top.”

“Deep inside I wanted to prove to myself I could win out here (Symetra Tour),” said Llaneza. “Of course I want to win on the LPGA Tour, but it was very important to see that I could do it in a big tournament like this. This is a great confidence booster.”

This win means a lot more for Alejandra other than the huge confidence boost. Members of the Symetra Tour are competing for the top 10 spots on the money list. This is called the Volvik Race for the Card. At the end of the season, the top 10 money earners on the Symetra Tour will earn their LPGA Tour Card. Currently, Llaneza has conditional status on the LPGA Tour.
